Cooperation with Iran will develop in all areas of transport

As part of the visit of the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Minister of Transport Ilhom Mahkamov met with the Minister of Road and Urban Development of Iran Mehrdad Bazrposh.

At the meeting, issues of developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran in the field of transport and logistics were discussed. The parties separately noted that the transport and transit sector is one of the important and strategic areas of cooperation between our countries.

Iranian Minister of Road and Urban Development Mehrdod Bazrposh announced his readiness to cooperate with Uzbekistan in the field of multimodal transportation and the development of transit traffic.

At the meeting, the parties agreed on the implementation of the plan for the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran in all areas of transport and the Ashgabat agreement.

The meeting also addressed issues of effective use of the capabilities of the southern and northern ports of Iran, intensifying transportation along the North-South transport corridor, reducing existing tariffs and facilitating transportation by road and rail by providing additional amenities to drivers from both countries.

Within the framework of the areas of cooperation discussed at the meeting, tasks for further implementation were identified.
